Problem
Windows can shut the communication with terminal devices and switch them off as soon as they are no longer used. This minimizes energy consumption but also means that the devices are not directly available when required.
It is useful to adjust the energy setting to ensure the connection.

Solution
- Open the Device Manager.
- Select USB Controller - USB Root Hub, Properties from the context menu.
- Go to the tab Power Management and deactivate:
- Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power
