How to correctly unzip exocad-DentalCAD.zip?

All data required for installation is available on the supplied USB data carrier.

Conditions

• A valid exocad dongle is available.
• Installation media:
  • The data was copied to a local hard drive.
• The system requirements are met.
• The Windows Updates were carried out.
• The PC is free from viruses and malware.

Preparation

Check the system components and pay attention to the recommended system requirements. Install the exocad Framework in advance.

1. Copy the data from the USB stick to a local storage path.
2. Install the exocadFramework2022.exe.
   • Execute exocadFramework.exe with a double click and follow the instructions.
3. If necessary, install 7-Zip.
   • The data should only be unpacked with 7-Zip. Unpacking with another program can lead to errors in the application.

Installation

1. Open the exocad-DentalCad7.zip in 7-Zip
   • Right click – 7-Zip – Open archive
2. Start the process by clicking on the Extract button and select the installation directory.
3. Navigate to …\DentalDB\bin\DentalDB.exe in the installation directory to start exocad.
   • Right-click - Send to - Desktop (create shortcut) to place a shortcut in the desktop and start exocad directly from there the next time.
